PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP
Rogue Swan Presents is a series of multimedia performances adapted from classical ballets. These multimedia performances are comprised of a Performance with animated video and live dancing, followed by a Creative Movement Workshop, and a Q&A for audience members.
Students work together in their English language classes studying the history, characters and story of a classical ballet. They then create a written adaptation with illustrations. We then take their work and create an animated video that is projected onto the stage while a ballet dancer performs choreography from the ballet.
Audience members, typically young students themselves are fully engaged in experiencing ballet, many for the first time. After the multimedia performance, audience members are invited on stage to participate in an interactive movement workshop that explores the themes of the ballet. A Q&A follows where students get a chance to ask questions about how the performance was put together and what it is like training and performing as a ballet dancer.
